Klaus Thurnhofer, CEO As the Chief Executive Officer, Klaus Thurnhofer is responsible for sales and partner management, product development and the overall management and corporate strategy of CYAN Networks Software GmbH. In 1993 Klaus started his career as a software developer for Computer Software Manufaktur GmbH (CSM). He soon worked his way up and became the head of the development team where he was responsible for the development of various Internet security solutions. He was one of the co-founders of the CSM Enterprise Proxy that was used by more than 30.000 companies. In the year 2001, one year after the acquisition of CSM by SurfControl, Klaus started to work for Kapsch. For Kapsch Klaus managed the development of an Internet payment system – bill-it-easy. The project bill-it-easy eventually spun off and became the company Montax. Klaus has a BSc. in Computer Studies from the University of Derby. Michael Kofler, CFO and Chief Evangelist As the Chief Financial Officer, Michael Kofler is responsible for the overall financial management. He is also acting as Chief Evangelist for the product development of CYAN Networks. Michael has 20 years of experience in the Internet security field. In 1990, together with 3 other partners, Michael founded the company Computer Software Manufaktur GmbH (CSM). In 1995 Michael developed one of the first web servers (Alibaba) that was available for Windows NT. One year later, apart from numerous other OEM deals, he developed the CSM Proxy that was licensed to Netscape. Klaus Thurnhofer, Thomas Hoffmann and Michael Kofler, managed to expand the CSM team from six people in 1995 to 60 people in the year 2000, as well as to open branch offices in Germany and the USA. After CSM was sold to SurfControl, Michael became the managing director for the SurfControl office in Vienna. He is also a co-founder of Eunet Austria. Since 2006 Michael is the CFO at Cyan Networks Software GmbH.
