| CYAN Networks with ESET NOD32 Anti Virus at the Web-Gateway |
|
CYAN Networks Software GmbH has fully integrated the ESET NOD32 anti-virus scanner into the CYAN Secure Web Proxy. Due to this integration the CYAN Secure Web Proxy has become the first web and content security gateway that employs the technology of ESET in order to check the Internet traffic already at the gateway if it is free of viruses, Trojans and other malicious codes.
The clients of CYAN Networks may also choose among three different anti virus solutions Kaspersky, Sophos or ESET. The technology of ESET was evaluated in „Anti Virus Comparative“ (see: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ ) with Advanced+ and it has been positioned on the top of 17 tested solutions along with Kaspersky, McAfee and Symantec. The profound integration of the CYAN Secure Web Proxy with the ESET Anti-Virus-Engine NOD32 reduces the work for integration and the configuration. The virus scanner is easily activated with a simple web interface. With this integration CYAN Networks provides the complete functionality so that the administrator does not need to spend his valuable time for testing two products.
Considering the always-increasing number viruses nowadays, many companies have already applied numerous programs for virus protection. „We offer the right protection to those who want to increase their IT security with the multi-vendor strategy. The clients who already use Kaspersky, Sohpos or other vendors for scanning the client’s PC, may also activate the virus scanner ESET NOD32 on the CYAN Secure Web Proxy per a mouse click, and vice versa“, explains Klaus Thurnhofer, the CEO of CYAN Networks Software GmbH. „The majority of our customers prefer to have an anti virus technology at the gateway which differs from those used for file and mail server, or client.“
With the integrated web filter of the CYAN Secure Web Proxy, the customers have at the same time secured that their employees may only access those sites, which are legitimized for them. In this way, on the one hand, the unwanted downloads are prohibited already at the entrance into the company’s network. On the other hand, all allowed downloads are scanned for viruses at the entrance. Due to the Soft Use Policy (SUP©) the employees are not restricted in their research. SUP© makes it possible to temporarily access the prohibited sites, but they are informed about the risks and about the protocol.
